7 Days Until Inauguration Day!
New Year - New Impeachment!
Dear Friends,
1.6.21: We witnessed, in horror alongside all of you, the violence in our Capitol and state houses across the country unleashed by Trump and aided by many Republicans complicit through their silence and through their own attacks on the will of the people.
1.13.21: Yes, Trump was impeached again. Yes, this is the first President who has been impeached twice. Yes, there was some GOP support. However, the gravity of indicting and impeaching a President for inciting an insurrection against the United States is the far greater story. We must hold Trump and all those complicit accountable.
Ongoing: We the people have pulled through everything that’s been done to divide, derail and dishonor our most basic rights. We have stood strong in the midst of unrelenting attempts to discredit and silence Black, Indigenuous, immigrant and other communities of color.
1.20.21: Together, we will work to make this a place of liberty and justice for all as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are inaugurated.
In the meantime, here are a few things to keep us all busy (details and links below):

On this national holiday, Jan 18 honoring one of our heroes of the civil rights movement, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., please join Indivisible Evanston, the Presidential Inaugural Committee, and our incoming President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for a Day of Service. Across the nation, there will be hundreds of thousands of volunteers dedicating their time and service to celebrate the profound legacy of Dr. King, and to provide relief to communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the past, Indivisible Evanston has recognized Dr. King on this holiday by gathering donations from our members, or joined in-person community and national actions. Due to the impact of COVID-19, this year we are hosting a virtual opportunity for our volunteers. We’re asking our members who are able to make donations to several organizations that help those in our Evanston community who have been most impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic:
Evanston Community Foundation Rapid Response
In solidarity,
